Rhythm talk:Cupid

I'm just wondering, why is the "cupid" system for Girlfriend Note being translated as "Solicitation"? I've only ever heard this word being used in a negative sense, so I feel like a different word might be better here...

The term in the menu is "勧誘"/'kanyuu', which Jisho translates here as "invitation; solicitation; canvassing; canvasing; inducement; persuasion; encouragement". When I was making my guide I went with Invitation, but if Cupid is the term from the original mobage, maybe we can just unify the term to that? 7thspacevelocity (talk) 18:17, 8 January 2016 (EST)

The original mobage actually just used the katakana for "cupid" as the system, so translating this directly to cupid might not be the best idea... I'm not sure what's the best here. I've just always been hearing Solicitation in a negative sense, so Invitation would probably work better. Something more standard like "Recruitment" might also work. Do you have any personal preference? I'll probably leave the page as is and ask other people for suggestions too Erina (talk) 18:26, 8 January 2016 (EST)

Invitation/Recruitment could be good if we want to avoid terms that might have negative connotations. Scouting or even Gacha could be suggestions too, if we want to use terms from, say, SIF/SS respectively that communicate the same idea. I'd like to hear what other users prefer too. 7thspacevelocity (talk) 18:34, 8 January 2016 (EST)
