Welcome to the Girlfriend Kari Wiki! We're glad to see that you're interested in making contributions to our community. Taking your first steps into making edits to any wiki can seem somewhat daunting at first, which is expected and reasonable. Here, we set down the basic policies for editing that all users and contributors should follow. Don't worry, they're not long and most of them are pretty simple to understand.

For more tips on editing, visit Wikipedia's page on editing guidelines. Although not all of its policies applies to ours, they contain various universal rules.

For more help on editing, visit our editing help page, or [editing documentation.] They contain resources on formatting with the source editor and with VisualEditor as well.

Policies

  1. Don't be afraid to make edits! If you see something that can be fixed, feel free to make an edit. This includes spelling errors, grammatical errors, and more. Feel free to contribute your own knowledge to pages that you feel are missing information.
  2. Do not make large changes to any portion of the wiki without having talked to other contributors and admins beforehand. Large changes (such as rewriting the entire main page) are bound to affect many active users, thus this warning is necessary.
  3. If you know how to edit source code, please use the Source Code Editor rather than the Visual Editor. The Visual Editor is still a beta feature and contains various bugs. It also places a strain on the server whenever people are using it (especially if multiple are editing at once).
  4. That being said, when altering source code, make sure to preview the page before saving to ensure the organization and hierarchy of the page is still functional.
  5. Avoid recklessly uploading images to the wiki. This causes server strain and will be treated as a form of abuse, leading into an indefinite ban. Don't upload images more often - make sure that when you're uploading an image, you definitely use it.
  6. Don't constantly resize images on the wiki. Resizing causes unnecessary server strain. Don't make unnecessary changes to the image resolution by a few pixels, thinking that text may align better. Continuously resizing images on the wiki will be classified as abuse, and may lead to an indefinite ban. Feel free to resize images as necessary, but don't abuse the system!
  7. Moving pages, deleting pages, or doing other large tasks require the permission of admins.
  8. Do not make an attempt to harm the content of the wiki in any way. Intentional malice, supplying of false information, or deletion of data is classified as abuse and will lead to an indefinite ban.
  9. Edit and contribute as you see fit, but remember that a wiki is meant to be objective. This means that your tone should be impartial and neutral as a whole. Feel free to state facts and opinions as necessary, but do not classify your opinions as facts. Opinions must be made obvious that they are not fact. The wiki exists as a way to supply information to other people around the world, not to spread and advertise your own thoughts.
  10. Your audience consists of people around the world, most of which are interested in learning more about Girlfriend Kari. This means that although pages do not necessarily have to be extremely formal like pages on Wikipedia, pages should still look professional and contain minimal spelling and grammatical errors.
  11. For non-English speakers, you are still encouraged to make contributions to the wiki, as long as you feel like you have useful information to contribute. Other users and admins will then take the responsibility of refining the language and text.
  12. Add citations and links as necessary. For example, when referring to a new event, make a link that takes users to Ameba's announcement of a new event in the game. Another example: link to news articles when you summarize them.
  13. Do not blackmail, insult, or make any attempt to harm the well-being of any other user of this wiki. The wiki is an open place, and interaction is encouraged. Negative interaction, however, is strongly discouraged and will more than likely lead to a ban. If in disagreement with another contributor about the content of a page, please work things out peacefully. Call other contributors or admins if in need of arbitration.
  14. Do not infringe copyright.
  15. If you need help, don't be afraid to ask for help!
