Well, since you're here, you're probably interested in figuring out how to start playing this game. In order to play this game, you must have an Android or iOS mobile device. The official site of Girlfriend Note contains links to the apps on both devices. You can find the direct link for Android here, and the link for iOS here.

As a quick warning, the game data will be saved to the device that you begin the game on, meaning that there is no cross-saving. You can only have one account per device, and one device per account. Keep this in mind before you begin! Of course, if you need to, you can transfer your game data to another device as long as you have your profile ID. However, once transferred, your old device will no longer be able to play under your account.

However, the game is region-locked to Japan - meaning that if you're not playing from Japan or using a Japanese Apple or Google account, you won't be able to directly download and install the games! Luckily, there are solutions for both devices. We'll explain them below.

iOS

The process is pretty straight-forward for iOS. What you'll need to do is create a Japanese Apple account, and switch to that account momentarily to download the app and install it on your phone. Searching for "ガールフレンド(♪)" should take you straight to the app. If that doesn't work, try just searching for "ガールフレンド" and looking through the results to find Girlfriend Note. No VPN is necessary.

If someone would like to explain the process of creating a Japanese Apple account below, please do so! I don't have any iOS devices, so I can't really explain this process Erina (talk) 23:31, 7 January 2016 (EST)

Android

There are two relatively simple methods to installing this game onto your device. The methods that we outline below don't require the use of a VPN.

QooApp

This is the way by which most people install apps and games from the Japanese Play Store - through QooApp. This handy app allows you to easily download apk files (the installer file for your apps and games) from Japan, and it helps you keep them updated! Really neat, right?

You can download and install QooApp by going to this site here using your Android device. Note that in order to install this app, you might need to enable "Allow installation of files from unknown sources." This is usually somewhere in your Android Settings or Privacy options.

After installing the app, you'll be greeted with a lot of Chinese news and other information that you don't care about. So, switch tabs at the top to the one with the circular QooApp logo to go to app downloads.

Now, go under "Rhythm Games" (it should be on the main page) and look for Girlfriend Note (ガールフレンド(♪)). Or, you can just use the search feature. Type in "ガールフレンド(♪)" into the search for it to work. Now, install the app, and you're good to go!

Whenever you need to update the app, just go back into QooApp, find the Girlfriend Note page again, and press update! It's that simple.

MEGA Download

Now, for you lazy people who don't want to install another app and would rather have a direct link to the game, we are hosting the apk for Girlfriend Note directly.

Visit the Mobile App Download page for more information. A link will be there to download the apk for Girlfriend Note. If this app is outdated, please contact someone such as Erina so we can get it fixed as soon as possible!

Once you've finished installing the game, let's move on the the actual tutorial!
